The membership year is from January 1 through December 31. The annual membership dues are $20.00 per person. For anyone joining in 2007 - our inaugural year - the Membership Fee will be $10.00 for 2007.

REGISTERING A HORSE

Registration is open to all cross-bred horses that are a minimum of 25% Gypsy Horse/Cob/Vanner.

A primary goal of the Gypsy Sport Horse Registry is to maintain accurate and honest records and to issue Certificates of Registration based upon those records. The records of the Registry are established from information provided by breeders, owners, and sellers. The more complete and verified the information submitted when registering a horse, the better. Examples of documents helpful in authenticating pedigrees are DNA records of sire and dam, copies of registration papers from other registries, and breeder's certificates. If ancestry cannot be documented, the registration certificate will state: "NA" or "Unknown" for any horse in the pedigree which cannot be verified through DNA records or other means.

The GSH Registry will accept individual DNA reports and DNA reports from other registries that will allow transfer of DNA information.

The registration fee is $20.00 per horse (U.S. Dollars)

TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP

A Transfer of Ownership form and the appropriate fee need to be submitted each time the ownership of a registered horse changes. In addition, the original Certificate of Registration for the horse being transferred must be submitted with the application for transfer of ownership.

Any person applying for transfer of a horse may be required to furnish documents verifying the horse's change of ownership (Proof of Purchase, Bill of Sale, Purchase Agreement, etc.).

Whenever legal title of a registered horse passes to another person by reason of death of the recorded owner, foreclosure of any lien, by any order or decree of court, or otherwise by operation of law, the Registry may transfer the registration of the subject horse to the new owner:

1. Upon court order of competent jurisdiction or other satisfactory proof of authority for the transfer.
2. Upon payment of the transfer fee.
3. Upon satisfaction of such other requirements as may be required by the Registry

The fee to process a transfer of ownership is $10.00 (U.S. Dollars).

DUPLICATE CERTIFICATES

If a Certificate of Registration is lost or destroyed, a duplicate Certificate of Registration may be issued. The horse's owner will need to provide:

1. The reason a duplicate Certificate of Registration is being requested (proof of loss or destruction).
2. A completed application for a duplicate Certificate of Registration.
3. New photographs of the horse.
4. The fee for the duplicate Certificate of Registration.

If a duplicate Certificate of Registration is issued, all previous registration certificates for this horse will be considered null and void.

The fee for a duplicate Certificate of Registration is $10.00 (U.S. Dollars).

CERTIFICATE CHANGES OR CORRECTIONS

In the event that a registered horse's coat color or markings change, or if a stallion is gelded, the owner of the horse may request an amended Certificate of Registration. A correction may be made on a registration certificate through the 12th month following a horse's foaling date or six months from the date a registration certificate was issued, whichever is later, for no charge. After that time, the fee is $10.00.

If information on a Certificate of Registration was entered incorrectly by the GSHR, a corrected certificate will be issued at no charge.

In any case, for a new Certificate of Registration to be issued, the original certificate must be returned to the GSHR.

No form necessary - submit corrections in writing, enclose the original Certificate of Registration and any required fee, and mail to the Gypsy Sport Horse Registry.

LIABILITY

The burden of proof for the registration or transfer of a horse is the responsibility of the applicant. The Gypsy Sport Horse Registry (GSHR) or any of its agents or employees shall not be held be liable in any event for any action or failure to act in connection with the operation of the Registry. Any Registry record found to be inaccurate will be expunged or altered and reissued as deemed appropriate by the GSHR.

STALLION DIRECTORY

Members may list their stallion(s) available for Gypsy Sport Horse breeding for an annual fee of $50 per stallion. Listing information includes: a stallion description, photo, and a link to your website.

Classified Advertising is offered as a free service to GSHR members. The GSHR cannot and does not make any representations, guarantees or assurances whatsoever regarding the listed horses or products. This advertising is provided as a listing service only to prospective sellers and buyers.

GSHR logo items will be offered for sale (shirts, jackets, bumper stickers, etc.) This program is in the development process.

PHOTO GALLERY

Submit photos via email or send by regular mail. Please include the following information: name of horse, type of cross, name of breeder and name of owner. Photos will be rotated as needed.
